Hi,

I have a few questions that I'd like to ask before placing an order with you for a Reseller Plan 1 account. If you think that you are able to provide other relevant information, please do so.

Here goes (in particular order I'm afraid):

- Do you have a SLA?
- Do you offer an uptime guarantee? If so, what percentage?
- What are the specifications of your servers?
- What load do you plan on each of your servers?
- How many backbone providers do you have?
- Hosts such as Fasthosts quote:

"We have more bandwidth than our competitors - a massive 400 Mb/s of Internet connectivity."

What do you provide?

"This is provided by two companies, Telewest and Cable & Wireless, reducing risk to you, in the unlikely event that either should experience network problems."

Yourself?

- Will my users be restricted to how many subdomains that can have? As the reseller, can I restrict the number?
- Can the subdomains be pointed to any url
- Can e-mails for any of my users (pop3 account) be forwarded to multiple e-mail recipient?
- Can I purchase domains through you? Is this an automated service? How will I be billed?
- Can I buy a domain on behalf of my client using their details (i.e. can I buy it, but register their and not my name)
- How often are your servers backed up? Can I get access to these back ups?
- Do you restrict how many resellers/domains are on your servers?
- Can I receive a written receipt from you by post?
- If I pay be credit card, will you automatically debit my card once a month?
- What is the minimum term contract for a reseller account?
- If I go over my monthly bandwidth what will happen? Can I buy more bandwidth? If so, how much per GB?
- Can you provide me any contact details of your customers? (so I can contact for comments on your service)
- Are site statistics available on all user accounts or just the reseller account?
- Do you charge for moving domains to and from 123reseller?
- Can I upgrade between reseller plans a few months down the line?
- Do your prices include VAT?
- Can I restrict the features for users? if so, how is this done?
- Can I visit a demo of your control panel?
- When will your Client Manager go live for all resellers?
- Can I design my own cpanel skins?
- Who do you register as the owner of a domain bought through you?
- Finally, how quickly could you set my account up if I decided to go ahead tonight?

I was recently stung badly by a host so must ask...
- Are you a profitable company? working successfully towards profitability?
- What are the chances of you going bust anytime soon?

Regards. I hope to hear from you soon,
---

I'll leave Craig or Andy to answer most of your questions but I will say that we use a Flump/123Reseller account and it we have had no problems (that were not of our own making! - and those were solved very quickly by the excellent Flump Team)

We have previously used Fasthosts and Donhost reseller accounts, and I have a client who used Webfusion (now host with us on a flump server!) but flump is the best!!

The only reason I would not recomend flump to someone is that if they want a single account, they should buy it from me and if they want a reseller account they must be a competitor :D

I'll post the email to the helpdesk here too..

As it was posted here also.

Hello Matthew,

Thanks for the email, let me answer your questions in order..

MB> - Do you have a SLA?
Its 99% uptime guarantee

MB> - Do you offer an uptime guarantee? If so, what percentage?
We do indeed, its 99%

MB> - What are the specifications of your servers?
We have servers of all specs, from dual cpu intels to one of our
latest machines (arrived today) P4 2.4Ghz with 1Gb RAM

MB> - What load do you plan on each of your servers?
As shown here, we do not max out servers:

up 93 days, 5:55, 2 users, load average: 0.06, 0.12, 0.28

3:33pm up 58 days, 21:04,2 users, load average: 0.01, 0.03, 0.05
3:34pm up 171 days, 16:37, 2 users, load average: 0.49, 0.32, 0.22

The load average is how much "load" is on the server although this is
not the only indication of how much is on, its a quick way of showing
you the status of a few machines. .

MB> - How many backbone providers do you have?
Around 25 - more being added all the time. Full network details can be
found here:
http://www.123reseller.com/why/network.php

MB> - Hosts such as Fasthosts quote:
MB> "We have more bandwidth than our competitors - a massive 400 Mb/s of
MB> Internet connectivity."
MB> What do you provide?

Aprox 750 Mbit/s of bandwidth

MB> "This is provided by two companies, Telewest and Cable & Wireless, reducing
MB> risk to you, in the unlikely event that either should experience network
MB> problems."
MB> Yourself?

Again, please see http://www.123reseller.com/why/network.php

MB> - Will my users be restricted to how many subdomains that can have? As the
MB> reseller, can I restrict the number?
Yes you can set these limits on a per customer basis.

MB> - Can the subdomains be pointed to any url
They can indeed

MB> - Can e-mails for any of my users (pop3 account) be forwarded to multiple
MB> e-mail recipient?
Yes - they can easily from the control panel

MB> - Can I purchase domains through you? Is this an automated service? How will
MB> I be billed?
We can set you up a reseller account with enom.com who are our domain
name providers giving affordable rates on top level names (aprox
8.95$)

MB> - Can I buy a domain on behalf of my client using their details (i.e. can I
MB> buy it, but register their and not my name)
You can easily yes - these details are fully configurable by yourself
at the point of purchase.

MB> - How often are your servers backed up? Can I get access to these back ups?
We back up the servers on a daily basis, see for more detail: http://www.123reseller.com/why/index.php

A quick email to support and we can restore an account.

MB> - Do you restrict how many resellers/domains are on your servers?
Yes - this is so on the 'semi-dedicated' plan three account: http://www.123reseller.com/why/semi.php
And on other accounts we monitor the servers to see how they are
coping with current load.

MB> - Can I receive a written receipt from you by post?
We can if needed yes.

MB> - If I pay be credit card, will you automatically debit my card once a
MB> month?
Yes - this is done automatically via worldpay.com.

MB> - What is the minimum term contract for a reseller account?
1 month is the minimum term.

MB> - If I go over my monthly bandwidth what will happen? Can I buy more
MB> bandwidth? If so, how much per GB?
Nothing will happen, we will contact you before you reach your limit.
Extra bandwidth can be bought at £3.50/Gb for normal overage if bought
in advance it can cut down significantly on the cost.

MB> - Can you provide me any contact details of your customers? (so I can
MB> contact for comments on your service)
Due to our privacy policy - no. However you are welcome to go onto the
forums and ask for youself.

Check out http://forums.123reseller.com/showthread.php?threadid=272

MB> - Are site statistics available on all user accounts or just the reseller
MB> account?
They are available on all accounts via the control panel.

MB> - Do you charge for moving domains to and from 123reseller?
No, we do not.

MB> - Can I upgrade between reseller plans a few months down the line?
You can - all it will take is an email to us.

MB> - Do your prices include VAT?
Prices do not include VAT.

MB> - Can I restrict the features for users? if so, how is this done?
You would have to create your own cpanel skin, then you will be able
to control what you see.

MB> - Can I visit a demo of your control panel?

You can view a demo here: http://demo:demo@www.flump.net/cpanel

MB> - When will your Client Manager go live for all resellers?

We are hoping by the end of this month

MB> - Can I design my own cpanel skins?

Yes - you can indeed.

MB> - Who do you register as the owner of a domain bought through you?
Whoever you specify as the owner will be set as the owner. We do not
set ourselves as the owner.

MB> - Finally, how quickly could you set my account up if I decided to go ahead
MB> tonight?

A couple of hours should see your account setup.

MB> I was recently stung badly by a host so must ask...
MB> - Are you a profitable company? working successfully towards profitability?
We are indeed a profitable company and have recently invested heavy
into our operations with around £20k investment in new services and
hardware which should be launching in a few months.

MB> - What are the chances of you going bust anytime soon?

I can say that its not looking that way thats for sure.

Hope that helps, any more questions just reply!

hi, man:

my site was hosted in webfusion before, but i didn't made any profit, cause the webfusion charge me £25 per additional resold account, that is ridiculous!!! when i send an email to webfusion, i have to wait over 24 hours for a response, and if i ring them, the phone is always playing "pop" music and "nice" webfusion advertisment.

and when webfusion hired some part time guys to write a "myserverworld" control panel, all my clients ftp username and password were changed automatically, and even they don't tell me what's happenning, so I have to ask all clients to fax me letterhead to ask new webfusion username and password.

no.......

It is not business!!!

we have to reduce cost to make profit, of cause it doesn't mean we reduce the quality.

123reseller provides instant support and cPanel, the server is even faster than webfusion.

webfusion provide 700MB web space for each account, but I never designed a site over 20MB for my clients.

the lucky thing is that, all my clients' sites are hosted in flump/123reseller server now.

Can i add that 123reseller offers an outstanding service for their resellers, and as a client manager tester let me just say that something very special is about to be unleashed! :D (especially when the Barclays ePDQ gateway is added  )

Afraid not, only resellers can edit the control panels :)

Hey

I noticed you asked for comments from customers in your questions to Flump/123Reseller.

All I can say is they are AMAZING!, apart from good pricing, the customer service is excellent. On top of that the support is superb.

I have been with Flump/123 for over a year now and they have never yet caused me any problems.

I was previously a customer with FastHosts/UKreg and found their service especially their support useless and was pleased I moved to Flump
